Car Abstractions

Since I’ve been doing very little riding these past few months (for various reasons), I decided to finally catalog my extensive collection of CD-ROM backups—some dating back to well before Y2K. The process was dramatically sped up with the help of a handy app called Disk Catalog Maker.

Among the small treasures I rediscovered was a series of photographic “abstractions” I created in 2006. Much like the later Kubota Abstractions series, these images focus on isolating details within a larger object—using form, texture, and light to see familiar subjects in unfamiliar ways.
