As it is with many trail systems, it takes an army of volunteers for them to come to fruition, but it is always one individual who leads the charge. The trails at Bacon Ridge were in the planning process for a long time and it wasn’t until local resident, and Trailwerks shop owner, Michael Klasmeier got involved that the project picked up steam and became what it is today. Bacon Ridge consists of approximately 20 miles of flowy narrow singletrack bound to satisfy the most demanding mountain biker. The trails are suitable for all levels of riders and include a dedicated jump line with options for beginners and advance riders.

Bacon Ridge
Location: Crownsville, MD
Length: 20 Miles
Ride Time: depends on routes chosen. Up to 4 hours
Ride Type: MTB
Difficulty: Level 3 Riding: The trails at Bacon Ridge can be demanding but are suitable for riders of all skill levels. I gave it a “level 3” rating because they include sections that have punchy climbs and unavoidable technical obstacles. Bacon Ridge is the perfect place for beginner and intermediate riders to improve their skills and build endurance.
Book: Bacon Ridge is not included in any of my books, this is a trail system that was under development when I went to print. It wasn’t until after my Maryland book was published that they came to exist. The loop I preent here is from a mid 2023 outing with the trail’s primary architect. The loop hits all major arras of the trail system.
