Last chance to ride OCS before heading out to Raystown and before the next class of Candiadat take over the gravel roads and training grounds.
It started semi cool but got hot and humid fast.
The Gravel at OCS was rolling great. Becky led us in and mixed things up a little by changing our regular loop. The team humored me and we got to ride Con Thien twice. absolutely love that section and now that the gravel road has been resurfaced and packed it was super fun. I bombed it the first time and then tagged behind Geof and Paul the second time around.
I Felt good but was fading towards the end - I only had a single water bottle so wasn’t hydrating enough for a hot morning like today. Still Good to be out :-)
We compared notes in the parking lot and reealized that we all had the same distance on our Garmin GPS units, except one of us. The difference? one of us wasn’t using a speed sensor. Those make a difference. If you don’t want to spend the money on the more expensive Garmin speed sensor, I highly recommned you get a set of the MOOFIT Speed/Cadence sensors. You can get a pair of these for roughly the same cost of one Gamin sensor and have one set up as a speed sensor and the other as a cadence sensor.
Hope that helps…
