Dalai the Llama

Those who know me know that I have a deep rooted fondness for the Llama. After all, I’m from Perú, and this Andean camelid is in Perú’s national emblem (a Vicuña by the way).

Please don’t confuse Dalai the Llama, my adopted mascot, with the wisest and holiest of men, the Dalai Lama, for whom I have the greatest respect and utmost admiration. It is he who inspires us to be compassionate and share what we love most with others.

That said, my “Dalai” is a veritable cornucopia of wise tidings and inspirational hummings; oncs that we should all aspire to follow.

Below are some of my most beloved quotes from our Andean friend...

I am a simple Andean llama, no more, no less.

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from following your dreams and venturing into the great wilderness.

If you want to be happy, just ride a bike, preferably in the Peruvian Andes.

People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. A local trail will certainly help you achieve that fulfillment and happiness.

The best way to resolve any problem in the human world is for all sides to spend time together over a cup of coca tea in the Andean highlands.

Find peace within yourself, go ride your bike.

Give the ones you love an adventure in the Andes, they'll have many reasons to thank you, and will always want to come back.
